My current read is Bitter Blood (The Morganville Vampires #13) by Rachel Caine and my three lines are from page 215:

The setting sun was lurid reds and golds, spilling into the vast and open sky, and it was as beautiful a thing as Claire had ever seen in Morganville.

Peaceful.
