My Review:

I really enjoyed this novel.  I read it in 24 hours finding it almost impossible to put down during this time.  I also bought book 2, Night School: Legacy for my kindle with in minutes of finishing this story.

I have always had a things about stories that were about mysterious boarding school and this novel has mystery in abundance.   When main character Allie is sent to Cimmeria Academy after being arrested for the third time, she thinks she is being punished but Cimmeria is nothing like she expected.  in fact despite the terrifying building and the strange rules and the secret Night School, she starts to feel happy there.  However as more and more secrets start to pile up, she finds herself getting more and more involved and the more involved she gets, the more dangerous it becomes and no one is who she thinks they are.

The amount of suspense and mystery  Ms Daugherty  puts into this novel is unrelenting, for every one secret we find out about 3-4 more seem to be created and even by the end, which though satisfying still leaves us with just as many questions as answers. Hence why book two was bought so swiftly as I need to know MORE.

I found it easy to connect with main character Allie and understood her need to find out answers and her frustration at trying to work out who to trust.  I also liked trying to work out whether the characters I liked were the good guys and the bad guys.

That being said, I found for the most part, the story moved a long well.  There were parts in the middle where i felt i was literally going to explode if I didn't find out more soon and felt it may have been drawn out just a little too much at time.  This is why I have only given it four stars because i loved everything else about it.

If you want novel that has a dark and mysterious boarding school, intriguing characters and suspenseful tale that will leave you gripping the edge of your seat then this is the novel for you.

I give this novel 4 stars.

About The Book:

Allie Sheridan’s world is falling apart. Her brother’s run away from home. Her parents ignore her. And she’s just been arrested. Again.

This time her parents have had enough. They send Allie to Cimmeria Academy - far away from her London friends. The school is beautiful, and filled with gorgeous, ultra-wealthy teens who travel by private jet, and were raised by nannies.

Allie has never felt more of an outsider.

Instead of hating boarding school though, Allie begins to feel happy. She's slowly making friends. And there's Carter, a brooding loner with whom she feels an instant connection.

But when Allie is attacked late one night, the school suddenly begins to feel like a very dangerous place. Allie finds out that nothing at Cimmeria is what it seems.

And that she is not who she thought she was…
